The Raymer MN series monoblock heat pump consists of one outdoor unit, designed for outdoor installation.

During operation of the Raymer monobloc heat pump – variable speed fans force outside air through an air-to-refrigerant heat exchanger at the rear of the unit. In heating mode, this heat exchanger serves as an evaporator. Low temperature heat is absorbed from the air, and the cooled air is exhausted through the fan grilles at the front of the unit. In cooling mode, the same heat exchanger serves as a condenser to remove heat to the outside air.
Systems, designed with monobloc air-to-water heat pumps in situations, when significant temperature fluctuations are possible or prolonged power outage when the outdoor temperature is below freezing point, a backup generator, capable of running a heat pump, missing, it is recommended to install a Raymer heat pump unit as part of a frost-protected water circuit.
One of the simplest ways freezing prevention is filling the entire system with antifreeze solution sufficient concentration, to prevent damage to the system at the lowest expected temperatures. The amount of antifreeze required depends on the intended function of the solution in cold weather..
